With the recent political changes in Malta while the EU is starting to pay much closer attention, I am now convinced Malta will become gradually less friendly to cryptocurrency businesses. I don’t think either Binance or OKEx will be headquartered there by the end of next year.

Bit a leap don't you think? Malta has been doing offshore things, through dozens of governments, in various sectors, for many decades. The scandal, bad tho it surely is, is nothing whatsoever to so with crypto! But with energy sector and alleged kick-backs for an energy contract.
